We had a jolly dinner at The Queens last night, complimentary of Newbury Racecourse - they showed us all the plans of how they are modernising the racecourse, which all looked very impressive.
Denis O'Regan came in to ride out this morning - he was very complimentary about Baltic Storm following his 2nd at Plumpton on Monday. We worked some horses up the grass - Denis rode Airpur Desbois, who went well. It is a really lovely bit of ground up on "the face of the hill" - the grass is riding really well and the horses (and the lads!) definitely enjoy a change of scenery. Ephraim worked extremely well and Tango Unchained worked nicely upsides Dukes Den. Morney Wing went well along with Expedite. Some Kinda Lama went nicely too and is definitely on an upward curve!
We don't have any runners today, but Matty will be leaving early tomorrow morning to go to Musselburgh where we will probably run Quebec and To Begin - the ground should be alright up there and the prize money is quite good too.
It looks like Seventh Sky might take on Coneygree at Sandown on Sunday, but he also has an entry at Aintree on Saturday, so we will wait and see what looks the best race for him on Friday morning.
